I have up for sale a nice vintage original Singer Simanco Folding Leg Sewing Machine Table with Metal Legs and 281-U insert. The bottom of the insert is stamped 281U and the table itself has support brackets that are specifically designed to fit the Singer Featherweight 221 & 222 models that have the bobbin winder tensioners ON THE TOP OF THE BED - IT CAN NOT ACCOMMODATE a 221 FW which has the SCHOOL BELL BOBBIN WINDER TENSIONER on the Right Side Front Facing Base Panel. Please make sure that your machine will fit into this table prior to purchase.It will fit a 222 but the 222 will sit slightly higher than the machine. Thankfully I was provided this last bit of crucial information by someone who viewed the listing . Below is exactly what she wrote me. This Singer FW card table cannot acommodate a 221 FW sewer which has the "School Bell" bobbin winder tensioner on the right side front facing base panel. The table has metal side trim and metal legs , brown finish. The top measures approx 30" x 30" and it stands approx 27.5" tall when in the use position , when folded its approx 2-1/4" thick . The table weighs 21.5 lbs. The pull out insert measures approx 7-1/4" but tapers down to 7" after approx 12-1/4" and it measures apprx 17-1/8" not including the tab so if your machine is going to fit into the opening . I am not aware if this table will fit any models other than the 221 & 222 Featheweighs. Please measure your machine and make sure that it will fit into this opening. This sale is solely for the table , the sewing machine is Not part of the sale. I have the sewing machine set inside the table in my last 3 pics simply to show how it fits and that Yes this was made for a Featherweight.
The underside metal cross piece is stamped SIMANCO 136217 and the 281-U Insert is stamped 136209 . Please view the last couple pics that show the cut out area and the inner metal frame work .
When I purchased the table there was some lose veneer and I had it glued back down by a local handyman . Other than this the table is original - estate fresh and As Found .
I am not an expert so please ask all questions prior to purchase. It is your responsibility to be sure that this table will fit your machine . I have provided everything that I know . If your machine does not fit into the table its your fault and I will not pay for return shipping - you will , its that simple.
